Director/Colourist/VFX Artist

Gareth set up Cinematic with Matt in 2011. Gareth is an accomplished VFX artist and colourist. His work includes Hidden, Yr Ymadawiad (The Passing), 35 Diwrnod, Wizards vs Aliens, Hinterland, Indian Doctor & American Interior.

Gareth is also an award winning director, he won a BAFTA Cymru for his directing début in 2006 and has since received a further 10 nominations.



Senior Colourist

Originally from Bath, Matt started his post production career in London cutting documentaries and promos. As an Online Editor & Colourist, Matt has over 10 years of experience working at the BBC on network dramas including Being Human, Doctor Who, Torchwood & The Sarah Jane Adventures. Since setting up Cinematic, Matt has worked as a colourist on a variety of projects that include: Apostle (Netflix), Denmark (BBC Films), Keeping Faith, Hidden, Hinterland, Indian Doctor, Gwaith Cartref, American Interior and BAFTA award winning Ellen for Ch4.



Facilities and Bookings Manager

Beth joined Cinematic as Facilities and Bookings Manager in 2019.

She has worked in post-production since graduating from Aberystwyth University with a master’s degree in 2010.

Beth has extensive experience in project coordinating and has post-produced numerous projects ranging from Netflix features, drama, daytime television, factual programmes and independent films.


Beth has a keen interest in music and music documentaries and sings with a local band.




A Colourist with Cinematic since 2016, Kurt has a long list of credits covering drama, factual TV and film. 

After graduating from Newport University in 2005 Kurt has gone on to work on some of the most successful and important TV to come out for Wales in recent years. Kurt is a specialist in Visual FX and Online Editing but has a natural flair for grading.


Kurt spends his free time going to gigs and plays bass for a local band.




Online Editor

Nathan joined Cinematic as an Online Editor in 2017, and has since gained a long list of credits across a range of formats including feature film, drama and factual.

After graduating from Newport Film School in 2011 he started his career as an Assistant Editor and now works as Cinematic’s Online Editor and Visual Effects Artist. 

Nathan enjoys spending his free time outdoors, he is an avid rock climber and enjoys hiking in the countryside.



Dubbing Mixer

Max has been a sound editor and dubbing mixer with Cinematic since 2018.

Since graduating from UWE in 2014 Max has worked on several dramas, documentaries and features including Hinterland, Stella, The Crown, The Good Liar and many more.

He has been nominated twice for a Bafta Cymru Sound Award (2014 & 2018) as part of the sound team.


Outside of the studio Max enjoys riding bikes and collecting records.



Dubbing Mixer
Gareth is a BAFTA nominated dubbing mixer who joined Cinematic's sound team in 2021. He has extensive experience in all aspects of sound design and has worked on a variety of programmes as sound editor, foley artist and dubbing mixer.

Gareth enjoys sports, music, cooking and spending his free time outdoors.


Junior VFX Editor
Elliot joined Cinematic as a Runner in 2020, wehere he quickly honed his skills in editing, particularly in VFX work. He developed his keen interest in post-production throughout training with the BFI during his time at college, and graduated with a First Class Hons in Film Production from University of Gloucestershire in 2019.
In his spare time, Elliot is an avid gamer, writer and space enthusiast.


Edit Assistant
Sam joined Cinematic as a Runner in 2021. He developed a passion for editing during his time at the University of Gloucestershire as a Film Production student, where he made several short films.
In his spare time Sam enjoys playing video games, watching Formula 1 and anime.


Rachel joined Cinematic as a runner in 2021. She has a keen interest in editing and has several projects she works on outside of the studio, including an online series where she interviews local musicians.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys going to local gigs and writing about the latest music releases.
